Software como Servicio (Saas): Tendencias Mundiales

Resumen:

La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las tendencias mundiales que existen en SaaS. Para ello se realizó una investigación; de tipo descriptiva (Tamayo y Tamayo, 2003); documental (Finol y Nava 1999), con un diseño de investigación no experimental, transversal (Hernández, Fernández y Baptista, 2005) y bibliométrico, Alcain (2002). La población del presente trabajo de investigación, es de tipo finita y objetiva (Chávez, 1994), está representada por una población de 10 artículos de fuentes tales como: Gartner Symposium/ITxpo (2012), computing.es (2013), Revista Gerencia (2007), Forbes.com (2013), ComputerWorld (2013), entre otros. Para recolectar los datos primarios, se utilizó la técnica de la observación directa. Para ello se diseñó una matriz de análisis (Finol y Nava 1999) y ficha técnica (Tamayo y Tamayo 2007). En primer lugar, se pudo observar el rápido crecimiento y adopción de SaaS a nivel mundial, por parte de pequeñas y grandes empresas por su simplicidad en la salida a producción para clientes, así como el cambio de modelo de inversiones en hardware/software a pago por uso. Otro elemento resaltante se basa en el tipo de aplicaciones software disponible, las mismas se ven mayormente enfocadas en sistemas administrativos, gestión de relación con clientes y planificación de recursos empresariales. Por otro lado también es importante destacar que se observa sobre casos particulares de organizaciones las cuales han migrado sus plataformas bajo el enfoque SaaS de nube privada por los anteriores beneficios sin los inconvenientes de seguridad. Otros inconvenientes también considerados como más importantes para la adopción de SaaS son: integración con sistemas legados, la cual va de la mano con la falta de personalización del software, así como la inestabilidad de la red.

Software as a service - SaaS: Global Trends

Abstract:

The present investigation aimed to analyze existing global trends in SaaS. This investigation type was descriptive (Tamayo and Tamayo, 2003), documentary (Finol and Nava 1999), with a non-experimental design, transverse (Hernández Fernández and Baptista, 2005) and bibliometric Alcain (2002). The population of this research work is finite and objective type (Chavez, 1994), is represented by a population of 10 articles from sources such as: Gartner Symposium / ITxpo, computing.es (Spain), Magazine Management (Chile) , Forbes.com, ComputerWorld, among others. To collect the primary data, the direct observation technique was used. An analysis matrix (Finol and Nava 1999) and technical data (Tamayo and Tamayo 2007) was implemented. First, we observed the rapid growth and adoption of SaaS globally by small and large companies for its simplicity an rapid in outcome to production for customers, change of investment in hardware / software to payment for use. Other feature is based on the type of software applications available, they are mainly focused on administrative systems, Customer Relationship Management and Enterprise Resource Planning. On the other hand it is also important to note that observed on individual cases of organizations which have migrated their platforms under the private cloud SaaS approach for the above benefits without the drawbacks of security. Other drawbacks also considered most important for the adoption of SaaS are: integration with legacy systems and the lack of customization of software and network instability.
