PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE OF LINEAR EQUATIONS: STUDENTS CASE, WHO START ENGINEERING STUDIES IN MOMBOY VALLEY

Abstract:

To respond to the needs and changes in societies, the dynamics of education increasingly require adaptive processes with evolution; that are in sync with the teaching-learning timeline. The purpose of this research was to make a diagnosis of the prior knowledge of linear equations in new students from the engineering faculty in Momboy Valley University; specifically in the subject of Zero Mathematics. In the methodological framework, the type of research is descriptive with a field design, the population and the sample consisted of two sections of 30 students each, likewise the technique treated was the evaluation test with a test instrument. The results obtainabled in the two groups presented acceptance percentages in their indicators between 10 and 60%, which are very similar, also the average grade between 6.23 and 6.77 points, likewise, an average of passing relatively low with a proportion of 10 and 13 students for groups one and two, finally the deviations with 6.30 and 6.55 somewhat scattered.
